Kid Awareness...
I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday, and I love today.
On September 1st 2010, President Obama proclaimed September to be National Childhood Obesity Month. This was not long after the First Lady announced "Lets Move", a fitness program dedicated to getting the young moving again. Even the reformed health plan has targeted children as top on their priority list.
On September 18th, PCF Kids went hunting for new recruits. We want to do our part, and we need your help. Below is a flyer we developed you could easily distribute at work, forward, or use. The worst thing is to do nothing. After that, bring your little ones to a CF Kids location near you so they may enjoy the same fun fitness experience the kids above received.

Love the video! Holly posted some awesome pics on Facebook too for those of you who have access to em. For those who weren't able to make it out to Taste of Troy, the obstacle course was a huge hit. We had well over 80 names on our white board and many kids who went through didn't write their names down. It was a huge success and I'm confident a few of those faces will be showing up at a CF Kids class soon!

Many of you may not be aware but my oldest son Josh was born with a very serious heart defect. He was born without a tricuspid valve and had 3 heart surgeries by the time he was 3. Because he didn't have the valve as he was developing, they could not replace it. 1/2 of his heart is atrophied so his blood has been rerouted directly to his lungs. He had an extremely rough start to life but is doing great now. Hard to believe he is now a Senior and planning to go to college next fall. His future is somewhat uncertain as he may be a candidate for a heart transplant some day but in the meantime we celebrate his good health and success in life. This Saturday "Team Joshua" is walking in the heartwalk to raise money for The American Heart Association. Josh has recruited 20 kids to walk on his team and is working hard to raise money. As you are aware, Heart Diseasee affects people of all ages and with the rise in childhood obesity, childhood heart issues are becoming a greater concerns. If you are interested in donating, you can go directly to the web-site and make an on-line donation.
