Storms...
Amelia..
True happiness is to enjoy the present...without anxious dependence on the future.
Storms are those times in our lives where we are bombarded with disaster after disaster. Truly everything can be viewed as a positive after we have weathered such occurrences, but the reality is that as humans we usually recognize the now as either good or bad, regardless of how we feel about it later.
We are blessed with only receiving what we can handle, supernaturally, but when we are in the midst of a storm a lot of our optimism and wisdom seem to fall away. Remember wisdom is only as beneficial to the extent that you use it. So if you are normally calm and collected, but a particularly brutal storm comes knocking, you may very well forget that wisdom and become immersed in the reality while forgetting the big picture.
The big picture may very well be a lesson. Some sort of hail coming at us to prepare us for the greater good of life. Maybe so we can help strengthen others, or so we can be prepared when this current thunderstorm, turns into a tornado.
Remember back to the last bout of shitty, stormy BS you pulled through. Makes you feel kind of accomplished when you came out on the other side, huh...even if you were left with a few scars. How do you think tornado survivors feel as opposed to thunderstorm survivors? Exactly...like everything else just got the volume turned way down, and no matter what, nothing is as bad as that damn tornado. No matter the jackass on the highway, the credit stealing boss, or that lazy husband, everything just seems simple.
Storms that come our way may look immediately destructive, ominous, and never ending. It may seem quick until we realize we are just in the eye awaiting the remainder. There may be seasons where it seems to always storm on our street, just at our house, in only our rooms.
Either you are turned around, misshapen or beaten into nothing by the destruction, or you are strengthened. Storms may be nothing more than the proof of how strong your current foundation is, and the room it has for continued growth.
If there is a huge hole, or a weakened foundation (mind), any storm will wreak havoc. But if that same mind is sured up with but the occasional leak, the storm will be nothing more than an inconvenience showing where your leaks are, and giving you the fortitude to fix them, before it's too late.
Use the storms of life to better understand, and appreciate the clear sunny days. Use them to value the folks who remain at your side throughout the rockiest weather. Use them to teach you....how to teach others. Not every storm needs a damn rainbow behind it. We, simply, need to continually strengthen our foundation so that when they do come, we are prepared. Prepared to see the storm for the true blessing it can be.
